Course Eligibility

  • Candidates need to be 19 or older as of 31st August 2023
  • Must live in Lancashire and be able to travel to Skelmersdale
  • Resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
  • Must be unemployed or earning less than £20,319 PA
  • Can be in receipt of benefits or not (UC/JSA OR ESA) 
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 

Course Description

Interested in becoming a Teaching Assistant? Looking for a job interview at the end? You’re at the right place!

This is a classroom based course in Preston, where you will study Support Work in School, this Level 2 qualification will provide an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment.

You will study one day a week on Mondays from the 4th March, for a duration of 8 weeks. 

At week 3 of training employers will be attending the course to introduce themselves and set up Job Interviews!

Once you have completed your Level 2 Support Work in Schools course, Jobskilla will issue you with the SEND (Special Educational Needs) course that you can complete from home at your own pace.

Successful completion will gain you the following qualifications:

  • Pearson Edexcel Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
  • NOCN Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills
