Course Eligibility

  • Candidates need to be 19 or older as of 31st August 2024
  • Learners can be in receipt of a benefit or not
  • If you are employed, you can be earning less than £23,319  PA and can provide proof of this
  • Right to live and work in UK
  • Must be able to travel to Cambridge
  • Must not hold the same qualifications
  • Must not be on any other training course 
  • Must hold a CSCS Card

Course Description

This is a 4 week course for individuals who live in England, but will be able travel to Cambridge for the duration of the training.

We are presenting an exciting opportunity to gain an industry recognised accreditation and plant certifications through a Skills Bootcamp in Civil Engineering and Groundworks.

Course Overview:

  • This course is fully funded by the Department for Education and therefore free of charge (subject to eligibility)

Week One and Two:

  • Environmental Impact & Carbon Footprint
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Principles of Civil Engineering
  • Asbestos Awareness and Risk Avoidance
  • Waste Management in Construction
  • Hand Arm Vibration

Week Three:

  • Concrete Placing and Finishing
  • Principles of Stormwater and Drainage
  • Abrasive Wheels and Use of Power Tools
  • Detection of Buried Services

Week Four:

  • Subject to 5 full days attendance on classroom elements of the course.
  • 4 days NPORS Training at a local Plant Training Centre
  • Gain Forward Tipping Dumper/Ride on Roller Ticket
  • Gain Plant Machinery Marshall category as well

100% attendance is required throughout the course.

Job Interviews will be offered on successful completion of the course!
