Course Eligibility

  • Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £20,319)
  • Be receiving a benefit (UC/JSA/ESA)
  • A UK resident for 3 years or more
  • Aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2023
  • Non Devolved areas only
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 

Course Description

This is a remote course. You must have access to a laptop or computer.

You can work on this course at your own pace, as long as the course is completed within the 2 month time frame given.

What does this qualification cover?

The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding in the area of end of life care and the involvement and actions they may take. This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

• The principles of end of life care and support
• The importance of persons centred care in end of life practice
• The impact of dementia in end of life care
• How to provide support when working in end of life care
• The loss and grief process.

The qualification will give learners working in, or intending to work in, healthcare and social care the knowledge and understanding of end of life care to support their role.

How is this qualification structured?

The qualification is made up of five mandatory units:

Unit 1 Understand the importance of persons centred Care in end of life practice
Unit 2 Understand how loss and grief occurs within end of life care
Unit 3 Understand how to provide support when working in end of life care
Unit 4 Understanding the impact of Dementia in End of Life Care
Unit 5 Understanding the principles of end of life care and support
