  • Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £20,319)
  • Be receiving a benefit (UC/JSA/ESA)
  • A UK resident for 3 years or more
  • Aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2024
  • Non Devolved areas only
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 

Course Description

This is a remote course. You must have access to a laptop or computer.

You can work on this course at your own pace, as long as the course is completed within the 2 month time frame given.

We can start you any day of the week, once your registration has been completed, you will be issued with your course material!

What does this qualification cover?

The qualification aims to:

The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to demonstrate understanding of data security and protection. The qualification will help learners progress to a work role where data protection and data security knowledge is required.

How is this qualification structured?

The qualification is made up of four mandatory units:

Unit 1 Understanding threats to ICT systems and data
Unit 2 Understanding data protection legislation
Unit 3 Understand the consequences of not protecting data
Unit 4 Principles of organisational data procedures

How is it assessed?

This qualification is assessed via an internally assessed and externally verified portfolio of evidence.
