Course Eligibility

  • Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £20,319)
  • Can be in receipt of a benefit or not (UC/JSA/ESA)
  • A UK resident for 3 years or more
  • Aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2023
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 
  • Must have access to internet and either a laptop or PC
  • The programme is NOT available in the following regions: Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, West and South Yorkshire, North of Tyne, Tees Valley, Cambridge and Peterborough, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, The Black Country & Coventry. 

Course Description

This is a remote course. You will learn from home with guidance from a tutor via a Microsoft Teams meeting.

You must have access to a laptop or computer.

You will have a live session with a tutor (10am – 4pm) We do have some flexibility for school runs.

This course will be 2 weeks long delivering 5-7 units.

  • Developing digital career skills

  • Management of Information

  • Digital device safety awareness

  • Communication and Productivity

  • Digital Security

Once you have completed the Digital Technologies side of the course, we will issue a voucher code via email which allows you to log in anytime to complete the SEND section of the course at your own pace.

SEND Units:

This certification programme has a total of 22 modules and covers a wealth of information related to SEND. Here’s just some of what your staff will cover in the course:
An introduction and background to SEND, along with an outline of the different types of learning needs, which gives the foundation for teaching staff to move forward with the programme material;
Theories of learning and how they can be applied in a classroom setting;
SEND codes of conduct and teacher responsibility, so you can be sure that your staff are held accountable to the highest standards;
A focus on several learning challenges, including dyslexia, autism and ADHD;
Alternative teaching strategies for students with a range of special needs, including communication challenges, emotional and behavioural struggles and physical and sensory difficulties;
Important learning outcomes, such as how to understand specific needs and learning difficulties and adapt the curriculum accordingly, in order to include the best strategies for these learning difficulties;
How to recognise and assess student learning challenges and the best approaches for offering educational support.
