Course Eligibility

  • Must be unemployed
  • ID: Passport or Birth Certificate (the right to live and work in the UK)
  • Out of Date Passport - Can be accepted (see more info)
  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months of the course start date
  • Candidates need to be 19 or older as of 31st August 2023
  • Must live in the Durham area
  • Can not be in any other form of education
 

Course Description

We have an exciting opportunity for several ambitious candidates to join a well-established distribution company as warehouse operatives. You need to be motivated and driven and have the desire to learn new skills. If this is you, we look forward to your application.

You must be able to commit to the full course timings and duration to qualify for your link to the employment options.

Units Covered in Training:

Level 1 Certificate in:

Introduction to the Facilities Industry

  • Introducing the learner to the importance of personal and workplace hygiene and industrial cleaning practices.
  • Covering health and safety legislation and be able to follow safe working practices within an industrial environment.
  • To give the learner a basic understanding of the importance of customer service.

Level 2 Certificate in:

Understanding Climate Change & Environmental Awareness

  • Focus on the study of environmental awareness and carbon footprint reduction, how it associates with a wide range of workplaces and to the lifestyles of individuals.
  • Offer breadth and depth study, incorporating a key care of knowledge that is relevant and can be applied across a whole variety of sectors to improve business performance as well as continuous professional development of learners and their skill set.
  • Develop an understanding of environmental protection and the action that can be taken within the workplace to mitigate the damaging impact of industry on the environment.
  • Explore how the lifestyle of an individual can be environmentally detrimental, while offering an insight into ways to reduce their footprint.
  • Understand global warming, climate change, sustainability and sustainable development.
  • To understand how to reduce the environmental impact of organizations and individuals along with protecting the environment and water efficiency.
  • To understand how to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions
