About the course

Jobskilla are proud to be in partnership with Skills North East to put on this fantastic opportunity to get unemployed people back into work. The qualification aims to prepare for adult social care in which would be a great skill to take on in which can give you potential to progress into more adult social care work This would all be achievable with the help from a subject specialist tutor who can guide and help you succeed on the course you are on.

Course Induction: 25/2/2019, 11 am.

Start date:- Thursday 07/03/2019

End date:- Thurday 18/04/2019

Time: 09.00am - 3.00pm

The course will run on every Thursday and Friday for 6 weeks. Learners will be expected to attend all sessions.

Course Location: St George's Community Centre, Broadway, Lupset, Wakefield,WF2 8AA. 

During the 6 weeks of the course learners will complete a range of workbooks that will provide evidence for certification.

Learners will participate in group activities covering the key components of the qualification (listed below) and will complete exercises including maths and English, preparation for employment/career development as well as developing their knowledge and understanding of British Values and Prevent.

  • PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    • Learners must be 19+ 
    • Learners must be unemployed, and claiming an employment related benefit or earning under £15,700
    • Learners must be a legal UK resident. 
    • Learners must not have completed the equivalent of course qualifications previously, at the same level or above.
    • Must be able to work in the care sector.
    • All learners will take park in a Maths and English initial assessment on the course enrolment day.
