Course Eligibility

  • Learners must be over the age of 19 (20 before the end of the academic year/ 31st August). There is no upper age limit for any courses.
  • Learners can apply if they are employed & earning below £20,319 PA
  • Learners must have been resident within the UK for a minimum of 3 years. We can accept Asylum seekers if the learner has the correct Home Office Identification and access to Government Funds.
  • Must not be completing a funded course at this present time or currently in education/college.
  • Must have access to the correct identification to access funding.
  • Must not have completed a similar qualification at the same level or higher.
  • Learners MUST have access to a laptop or a computer with internet access to complete any of the remote courses. A phone or tablet will not suffice.
  • The programme is NOT available in the following regions: Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, West and South Yorkshire, North of Tyne, Tees Valley, Cambridge and Peterborough, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, The Black Country & Coventry.

L2 Certificate Awareness of Bullying in Children & Young People

The course covers key topics such as the principles of bullying, recognising signs of bullying, supporting victims, approaching potential bullies and understanding government guidelines and policies related to bullying. 

L2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children & Young People

This short course will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills required to work with children and young people in a variety of settings.

This qualification covers a wide range of topics, including safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, understanding how play forms part of a child’s development, using food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet and using play to support early learning and development. 

L2 Award in Neuroscience in Early Years

This short course will provide you with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of neuroscience and its application in the early years setting. This qualification covers a wide range of topics including the development of the baby’s brain during pregnancy, the structure and function of neurons and the impact of relationships on the social brain. 

You will also explore the concept of self-regulation, the factors that influence it and the role of co-regulation in nurturing children to achieve self-regulation. The course delves into the stress response system and the adverse childhood experiences that can influence long-term well-being and development.  

L2 Certificate in Adverse Childhood Experiences

This short course is designed to provide you with an understanding of childhood experiences and improvement strategies.

The qualification focuses on the study of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), offering a breadth and depth of study and incorporating key core knowledge.

You will explore childhood and family structures, understand ACEs and potential outcomes for children enduring them, explore the role of the practitioner supporting children impacted by ACEs and develop strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by ACEs.

L2 Certificate in Understanding Children & Young Peoples Mental Health

This short course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the principles of mental health concerns in the context of children and young people.

The course covers a range of comprehensive topics, including common mental health conditions, relevant legislation & best practices, strategies for supporting mental well-being and the causes & diagnosis of mental health concerns.

You will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support children and young people with mental health issues, promoting their overall well-being and resilience. 

L2 Certificate in SEND – Special Education & Disability Needs

This is a comprehensive course that will provide you with a thorough understanding of the different conditions categorised as SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disability).

You will be able to explore many different aspects of SEND including the symptoms of specific conditions, legislation and guidance applicable to individuals with SEND.

This short course covers a range of topics including equality and diversity in the context of SEND, the principles of promoting a person-centred approach for individuals and living with SEND.
