Course Eligibility

  • Must be unemployed or on a low income (less than £25,000)
  • You can still apply even if you are not receiving a benefit
  • A UK resident for 3 years or more
  • Aged 19 or older on or before 31 August 2024
  • Must not be in any other form of education or training course 
  • Must have access to either a Laptop/Tablet or PC
  • Must have internet access
  • Must not already hold the same qualification 
  • The programme is NOT available in the following regions: Greater Manchester, Greater London, Liverpool, West and South Yorkshire, North of Tyne, Tees Valley, Cambridge and Peterborough, Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, The Black Country & Coventry.

Course Description

This is a remote course. You must have access to a laptop or computer.

You can work on this course at your own pace, as long as the course is completed within the 1 month time frame given.

Please ignore the course start date, this course has a rolling start which means as soon as you have completed your enrolment steps, you will be started!

Who is it suitable for? 

This qualification is aimed at learners who are new to the customer service sector and wish to improve their knowledge of this area resulting in the achievement of a nationally recognised qualification.  The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and understanding in customer service for learners who deal, or intend to deal, with customers on a daily basis as part of their job role and is applicable to a variety of work environments.

Once you have completed your Customer Service element of the course, Jobskilla will issue your Fitness (Personal Trainer) course.

This course will be issued to you via email, you can simply login and out of this course whenever you like and complete at your own pace!

Fitness (Personal Trainer) Diploma Units:

  • Learn what you will need to begin your career in fitness, from the skills you will need to the role you will be expected to perform on a daily basis.
  • Understand the human anatomy of the bones, their function and how exercise can impact the bones. You will also learn about how bones are affected as part of the ageing process.
  • Learn more about the cardiovascular system from the heart’s function to respiratory function and how these are impacted by exercise, along with the benefits.
  • Get an understanding of muscles and how they work and the different muscle types.
  • Understand joints and nervous system, as well as injury prevention.
  • Learn more about obesity and diabetes and how the two are linked. Obesity has become a serious issue in the United Kingdom with more people being diagnosed with diabetes on a daily basis.
  • Get a good understanding of a healthy and well-balanced diet and why this is so important in conjunction with exercise. Learn the five main food groups, types of food and how to set nutritional goals.
  • Learn how to encourage your clients to embrace an active lifestyle and how it can benefit them in the long run.
  • Identify how exercise impacts the body as a whole.
  • Learn how to safely monitor your clients’ exercise intensity.
  • Learn how to set fitness plans in place, how to plan, difficulties you may face and standards you must adhere to.
  • Get a good understanding of the importance of stretching, working with disabled customers and outdoor exercise routines.
  • Learn how to work with children, from exercise to diet.
  • Identify if yoga or pilates may be something you will want to specialise in.
  • Know how to deal with emergencies in the fitness industry.

You will complete your Customer Service course first (4 weeks to complete). Once this is completed, we will issue your Personal Trainer course. The Personal Trainer course will be emailed to you, and again, you can start and complete in your own time!
