Course Eligibility

  • Learners will need to be in receipt of one of the following benefits: UC/JSA/ESA
  • You must be unemployed
  • Learners need to have the following ID:
  • Passport or Birth Certificate (the right to live and work in the UK)
  • Proof of benefit with the payments and any deductions
  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months of the course start date (Utility bill, bank statement, HMRC letter)
  • Candidates need to be 19 or older as of 31st August 2022
  • Must be a Merseyside resident

Course Description

This is a remote course where you will learn from home with guidance from a tutor. Your start date depends on how quick you complete and return your enrolment documents that will be emailed to you upon a successful course booking.

What you will study:

Depending on previous experience or qualifications, you will be able to start your study with a Level 1 Introductory Certificate in Caring for Children or (& progress) onto Level 2 Certificate in Common Childhood illnesses and then if you wish to study further a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools. Learner support will be provided to find employment and prepare for interviews during the course and following course completion.

Supporting children’s learning through everyday experiences

Pearson BTEC Introductory Certificate in Caring for Children under 5

Pearson BTEC Extended Award in Workskills L1

Childcare Level 2

Understand how to provide a safe and healthy environment for babies and young children

Understand common childhood illnesses

Understand health emergencies and specific health conditions in an early years setting

Child and young person development

Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults

Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
Schools as organisations

Qualifications gained

NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses

Pearson LEVEL 2 AWARD IN SUPPORT WORK IN SCHOOLS

Delivery:

Classes are delivered remotely, on, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, from 9.30am for approximately 2 hours with an online tutor. Following this, learners will be given activities to complete prior to logging back in for the afternoon sessions which are between 1pm to 2pm.

Part time course 3 days per week for 6 weeks.

Learner support will be given to find employment and prepare for interviews during the course and following course completion.
